Back in 1984, Michael Jackson’s Thriller album was enjoying a long run at number one on the Billboard charts. It was top at the start of the year, and remained in the number one position until April 21 when it was displaced by the Footloose soundtrack.
This album was huge.
One More Night – Phil Collins
In this week in 1985, Phil Collins ruled the Billboard charts with One More Night from his No Jacket Required album. This song captures Collins’ voice well and was deservedly a big hit for him.
50 Years – The Uncanny X-Men
50 Years by The Uncanny X-Men was one of the big songs of 1986 here in Australia. Brian Mannix and the group had a few hits off the Cos Life Hurts album and inspired many Australian teenagers to bleach their hair.
